Deer Park, NY -
The Deer Park Phoenix battled hard during a very physical game in which they dominated most of the first half. However, they couldn't convert on their many chances and the Phoenix gave up a goal late in the first half. The game became more even in the second half as Stony Brook begin to push forward and build momentum. Midway through the second half, Deer Park's Jack McGoldrick-Burke had a breakaway from midfield. He carried into the box and ripped a shot that was stopped by the goalie, but Jack was in position to put the ricochet in the net. Stony Brook made a late charge at the end, but the Deer Park defense stood strong and supported Xavier Jansson's solid work in goal.
